Very good service, excellent house wine and very tasty Tarte Flambe.
We will return.
On est tombé sur ce restaurant par hasard! On a pas regrettés tellement
ce fut bon! Jamais mangé une choucroutte aussi bonne
“Not to be missed!”
This restaurant/hotel is located near the centre of Obernai and was built 400
years ago. It is an amazing half-timbered building which could have come
straight from a Brothers Grimm story with no wall or window quite in line.
The interior is suitably old fashioned and traditional with lots of horse
brasses, witches on broomsticks and suchlike and the food is delicious and
very reasonable. For us the highlight of the menu was a traditional
choucroute (sauerkraut) for two garnished with six types of pork, local
sausages and potatoes washed down with a half bottle of Cremant d'Alsace
for a very reasonable 31€. It was more like a meal for ten, but the landlady
told us that the locals often demolished it to the last bite!
The dining room is on the first floor but you can also dine outside.
